UAE's Dedication to Sudanese Well-being

Participating in the International Humanitarian Conference for Sudan held in Paris, France, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reiterated its steadfast support for the Sudanese people. Represented by His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, the UAE engaged in discussions aimed at advancing peace initiatives and addressing the pressing humanitarian crisis in Sudan. At the conference, the UAE pledged USD 100 million to bolster humanitarian efforts in Sudan and its neighboring nations, showcasing its enduring commitment to extending aid and assistance to those in distress.

Advancing Peace and Humanitarian Relief
In his address, HE Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan commended the UAE's extensive endeavors to alleviate the plight of the Sudanese people and stressed the significance of global cooperation in resolving the conflict. The UAE reiterated its call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire while advocating for a return to the political dialogue to seek a peaceful resolution to the crisis. Additionally, the UAE underscored its ongoing humanitarian endeavors, including the establishment of a comprehensive field hospital in Abéché city, Republic of Chad, to aid Sudanese refugees. With a total contribution of USD 150 million in relief aid, the UAE remains dedicated to prioritizing humanitarian assistance for Sudan and its neighboring nations.

Enhancing Diplomatic Efforts
The high-level discussions at the Paris Conference centered on delineating principles to bolster conflict resolution in Sudan and reinforcing humanitarian and diplomatic endeavors to tackle the challenges confronting the Sudanese people. The endorsement of a document outlining these principles marks a significant stride toward achieving a peaceful resolution to the crisis that has afflicted Sudan since April 2023. HE Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan reiterated the UAE's commitment to advancing peace initiatives and called for collaborative endeavors to enhance security, stability, and prosperity in Sudan.
