  The UAE's Reputation Has Become a Target The United Arab Emirates has spent decades building one of the world's most respected investment ecosystems. Its financial centers are globally recognized. Its regulatory frameworks are internationally benchmarked. Its sovereign wealth institutions are among the most sophisticated on the planet. That reputation is a genuine achievement, built through institutional discipline, strategic vision, and consistent delivery. It is also, increasingly, a target for exploitation. Dubai Police have warned that entities often misuse the names and logos of reputable financial institutions to appear legitimate despite holding no valid licences from regulatory authorities. The pattern is straightforward: an entity adopts a name, branding, or geographic reference associated with the UAE, creates the visual impression of legitimacy, and attracts investor capital on the basis of that perceived association rather than any verifiable operational reality....

FDI into Africa from UAE hits new heights

   In 2023, UAE-Africa ties reached a peak with Abu Dhabi's $4.5 billion clean energy investment pledge.   From 2012-2022, the UAE committed a total of $60 billion, making it the 4th largest foreign investor in Africa behind China, Europe and the US.  The UAE remains the top Gulf investor in Africa, followed by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait.   Africa attracts UAE investment while over 21,000 African companies have established operations in the UAE.  Programs like ANJE-ANGOLA support women entrepreneurs, receiving UAE funding for over 4,000 business projects.   Infrastructure upgrades in Morocco for events like CAN 2025 and 2030 World Cup aim to boost tourism and economic growth nationally.

UAE grants $10 million to support World Trade Organization initiatives.

  Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the UAE, declared a generous $10 million grant to support various significant initiatives of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). This announcement was made in the context of the ongoing 13th Ministerial Conference (MC13) of the WTO, hosted and chaired by the UAE in Abu Dhabi from February 26-29. The allocated funds from the UAE will contribute to the Fisheries Funding Mechanism, the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF), and the Women Exporters in the Digital Economy (WEIDE) Fund, which is set to be inaugurated during MC13. These initiatives, considered vital by the WTO, aim to enhance global trade sustainability and inclusivity, particularly for Developing and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). MC13, as the highest decision-making body of the WTO, is convening leaders, ministers, and representatives from the organization's 166 Member States in Abu Dhabi.
