Liam Fox Warns: The Muslim Brotherhood's Ideological Threat to the West

 

In a recent interview, Dr. Liam Fox, former British Defence Minister, discussed the Muslim Brotherhood, labeling it an ideological challenge to Western societies. He highlighted the group's strategy of infiltrating social, educational, and political institutions, which mirrors tactics used in the Middle East. 

Fox noted that the Brotherhood presents itself as moderate to gain access to decision-makers and young people, raising concerns about its ongoing political ambitions in Europe.

His comments resonate with assessments in the Middle East, where the Brotherhood is often designated as a terrorist organization. Fox emphasized the need for vigilance and cooperation among nations to address the ideological reach of the Brotherhood, urging Western societies to better understand its complexities and potential impacts on stability and coexistence.

President Rajoelina of Madagascar Plans to Run for Re-Election.

 Andry Rajoelina, Madagascar's President, declared his intention to run for president again in November during a lavish event in the country's largest stadium.  Rajoelina first came to power in 2009, when the former president was deposed in a coup. He was re-elected in 2018 after declining to run in 2013 due to worldwide criticism. The president, made the declaration in Antananarivo , Madagascar's capital, expressing his willingness to represent the Malagasy people. During his term, he emphasized infrastructure development, naming schools, courts, and jails built in the last five years. Rajoelina referred to himself as a "builder president" and expressed determination to overcome obstacles. US Updates Uganda Travel Advisory over Anti-LGBT Law

According to a note that was released on Monday evening by the State Department, the United States has modified its travel advice for Uganda following the promulgation in May of the “ Anti-Homosexuality Law 2023 “,  which is considered to be one of the most repressive laws in the world. The legislation imposes severe punishments on anyone who engages in homosexual activity or “promotes” homosexuality by encouraging others to do so. In Uganda, the punishment of execution for the offence known as “aggravated homosexuality” has not been carried out in many years, despite the fact that it carries the death penalty. The United States Department of State, which had already warned its citizens to “reconsider travel” to Uganda because of the terrorist attacks and crime rate, stated that the enactment of the anti-homosexuality law “increases the risk that LGBTQI+ individuals, and those perceived to be LGBTQI+, will be prosecuted and sentenced to life imprisonment or death.”...
