Can the Kaizer Chiefs rule South African football?

 

Kaizer Chiefs, who have 55 championships to their name, are still regarded as one of the greatest South African football teams despite their lack of trophy wins since 2015.

Contrarily, Mamelodi Sundowns has dominated the DStv Premiership, winning eight of the last ten championships. In 2017, Bidvest Wits became the final group to end their successful campaign.

Now, Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are competing for the continental title in an attempt to take away Sundowns' supremacy. Pirates just won two domestic cup championships in 2022–2023 but haven't won the PSL since 2012.

Mahlatsi Mahlatsi, who made only seven appearances in the 2022–23 season, was let go by Kaizer Chiefs. Kaizer Motaung Jr., their Sporting Director, said they let him go so he could play more elsewhere.

Sibongiseni Mthethwa, a midfielder for Stellenbosch, is a player that Kaizer Chiefs are strongly seeking to add to their team.

Mthethwa's release from Stellenbosch FC is still in confusion, despite the fact that Kaizer Chiefs have made an official offer. They are well aware of Mthethwa's skills.
