The Black Book breaks records on Netflix

The masterpiece work of Anakle Films, “The Black Book,” that goes over borders, capturing viewers world wide, has broken records on Netflix. 

The movie's global appeal took it to the number one position on Netflix worldwide just in three days of release. This is a historic milestone for African cinema on the international stage.



The movie is directed by Editi Effiong, and the “The Black Book” is a sad story of Paul Edima, a former military and drug cartel hitman in Nigeria. Edima’s life is full of assassinations, abductions, and drug operations. He then starts to live a peaceful life. He is then pulled back into the the dark world again after his only son becomes a victim to a gang of corrupt policemen.

Within weeks of release, “The Black Book” has gained over 20 million viewers and got placed on Netflix’s top 10 list for three consecutive weeks in 69 countries. This is big achievement for the continent and its cinematic future.
