Portable Received N5m From Celestial Church; What’s The Controversy?

 

Popular Nigerian musician Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Olalomi Oyegbile, has addressed the recent uproar caused by his unannounced exit from a Celestial Church praise event.

After Olatosho Oshoffa, the Shepherd-in-charge of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, Lagos, expressed dissatisfaction of Portable's performance, Portable has reiterated his intention to take part in the church event.

"We have to proceed with the performance at the Celestial church," the singer declared. You have already given me N5 million as payment. Together, we'll make it happen, and I'll perform."

A controversy erupted when well-known Fuji musicians Pasuma and Portable were announced as the special guests for an upcoming praise night event at one of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters branches in Ketu, Lagos State.

The public responded negatively to the performers selected for the celestial praise night, which caused the Church to reevaluate. The Church chose to omit Pasuma and Portable from the planned celebration in response to the negative feedback.

In reaction to this, Portable declared his intention to play at the Celestial Church function. "The children of God are coming," he declared, making an appeal to the Land of Goshen Cathedral. In the name of God, Land of Goshen Cathedral, kindly regard us as God's children and refrain from judging me based just on my appearance."

For a variety of reasons, including his recent request to work on a future collaboration with Nigerian megastars Davido and Wizkid, Portable is constantly in the news.

Dr Zeh, popularly known as Portable, is a well-known Nigerian musician who excels in the genres of songwriting, rapping, and singing. His breakthrough came with the release of "ZaZoo Zehh," a song that he co-wrote with Nigerian rapper Olamide.

Portable has been linked to contentious situations during his career. At the beginning of his career, he had disagreements with Wizkid and Poco Lee.

One event that stands out is when Poco Lee invited Portable to a performance that had Olamide and Wizkid. Wizkid showered Portable with cash, but Poco Lee split the money covertly, causing a stir.
