Coachella 2024: African Artists Tems, DJ Spinall, Tyla Take The Stage

The 2024 lineup for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, a highly anticipated music event in California, USA, has been unveiled. Among the featured performers are African artists such as Tems from Nigeria, DJ Spinall also hailing from Nigeria, Tyla from South Africa, and Skepta from the UK. They join a stellar lineup that includes renowned names like Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator, and Doja Cat.

Tems, known for her expertise in RnB and Afrobeats, is making a return to Coachella after her performance last year alongside other African talents like Burna Boy.

Tyla, recognized for her fusion of Amapiano, RnB, Afrobeats, and pop, is expected to draw significant attention with her hit song "Water" and an upcoming album.

Scheduled over two weekends, April 12-14 and April 19-21, at The Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, Coachella 2024 promises a diverse lineup. Apart from Coachella, Tyla is also slated to perform at the Governors Ball, a major music festival in New York City, in June.

Other notable artists gracing the Coachella stage this year include Renee Rapp, Sabrina Carpenter, Ice Spice, Suki Waterhouse, Lil Yachty, and Bebe Rexha. The return of No Doubt, led by Gwen Stefani, adds to the excitement, with Stefani hinting at the possibility of new music.

Known for its unique fashion, Coachella attracts celebrities adorned in creative outfits. While past styles featured bohemian flair with face gems and flower crowns, recent trends, as seen with models Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber last year, lean towards subtlety and simplicity.

Tickets for Coachella can be purchased through the official website, with sales starting on January 20. Organizers recommend considering tickets for the second weekend for a potentially smoother purchase experience.

This event serves as a platform for artists from various countries, including Africa, providing an opportunity for African talents to showcase their skills to a global audience. The recognition of African music and artists on such a prominent international stage is indeed noteworthy and exciting.
