UAE, Russian Presidents discuss strategic partnership, regional, international issues in Moscow
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, discussed strengthening bilateral relations within the framework of their strategic partnership. The talks also covered several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The meeting, attended by key UAE officials including H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, took place at the Kremlin during Sheikh Mohammed’s official visit to Russia. The discussions highlighted the growing UAE-Russia relations, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, investment, space, and energy.
Additionally, both leaders addressed the recent BRICS Summit and the group’s role in fostering international cooperation. Sheikh Mohammed commended President Putin for his leadership of BRICS and extended his best wishes for Russia’s continued success in this role. The talks also focused on the Middle East, with Sheikh Mohammed emphasizing the importance of avoiding further regional conflict. President Putin, in turn, expressed appreciation for the UAE’s mediation efforts, particularly in facilitating a recent prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine. Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting such humanitarian initiatives.
